Opened in September 2001, the Holiday Inn is housed in an extended, renovated block of historic tenement houses, joined to a more modern building that has a façade composed of light stonework and lots of shaded glass. The lobby is beautifully appointed in marble, with a generous seating area and easy access to the bar and restaurant. The 154 guestrooms vary in size and style due to the mixture of old and new buildings. Although the rooms are decorated in a pleasant style, they are also of business-hotel standard and not terribly unique or nearly as atmospheric as the tenement buildings themselves. The "Bom Fogo" restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and has special offers on business lunches, dinners and occasional receptions.
